WHERE ART MEETS HUMANITY
Know Nation is a cultural practice working across artistic creation, architecture, memory, and education.
At its core is an exploration of embodiment, space, and attention — how these shape the ways we perceive, relate, create, and understand the world around us.
Through performance, film, and long-term cultural and educational programs, Know Nation creates situations in which the body becomes a way of knowing, space becomes an active participant, and attention becomes a means of encounter.
THE HUMAN CONNECTION
Every performance, film, and collaboration begins with the conditions of encounter.
Know Nation works with the body, sound, space, memory, and time to explore how experience is formed — between individuals, within environments, and across institutions.
Rather than positioning art as something simply to observe, the practice creates conditions in which perception itself becomes active: where attention deepens, relationships shift, and meaning can emerge through lived experience.
THE PRACTICE
Know Nation develops performances, films, site-specific works, and long-term educational programs, in direct dialogue with the contexts in which they exist.
Projects connect fields that do not usually meet directly — artistic practice and institutional structures, spatial design and embodied experience, education and professional environments.
Some works remain singular. Others evolve across time and formats, allowing an artistic encounter to become a film, an educational process, or a sustained presence within an institution.

Presence is a developmental framework for integrating body, attention, perception, creativity, and collaboration within education. REBUILDING HUMANITY

+ Educational & Community Engagement Programme
Developed by Know Nation within the Snøhetta Foundation’s Rethinking Rebuilding programme
at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Before humanity inscribed knowledge into books, it inscribed knowledge into bodies.
REBUILDING HUMANITY explores how societies preserve, renew, and transmit knowledge across generations — through a film, performance, and architectural ritual conceived and artistically directed by Daniel Proietto, and through workshops, conversations, and embodied learning that carry those same questions into shared practice.
